PEGASUS RIDING SCHOOL SHOW RULES

WARNING!  UNDER GEORGIA LAW AN EQUINE ACTIVITY SPONSOR OR EQUINE
PROFESSIONAL IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A
PARTICIPANT IN AN EQUINE ACTIVITY RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF
EQUINE ACTIVITIES PERSUANT TO CHAPTER 12 OF TITLE 4 OF THE OFFICIAL CODE
OF GEORGIA ANNOTATED.

ENTRIES:   CLOSE 9PM Wednesday
prior to the show.  Entries may be accepted after that
at the late post entry fee. Incompletely submitted entries may be accepted at the post entry
fee.  We will not take entries Friday before the show.

TO ENTER:  Entries from adults only please!   Call or e-mail rider's name, address, age and
phone number, the horse"s name and class numbers to the Secretary.

ENTRY FEES:   Fees may be paid with cash, closed or open check left with the Secretary the
morning of the show.
$12 per class / members                              $15 per class / non-members
$10 post entry fee per entry/members          $12 non-members
$12 warmup class for members                     $15 non-members( entitles rider to 2 rounds)
$20 office fee per horse/rider combination.  Non refundable.  
$5 service fee for unlimited add/scratches from classes other than original entries
$35 non showing horses per horse/rider combination

STALLS:  Are reserved on a first come & paid basis with signed entries.  We will not accept
horses that chew wood, crib (collar ok), kick or act unruly in the barn.  Stalls have shavings at
no charge, however, extra shavings are $7.50 per wheelbarrow. Stalls are expected to be
picked up prior to departure.  Damage to stalls will be accessed a repair fee.
$20 per stall in upper barn on show day only (only 7 available)
$15 per stall in temporary stalls in lower barn on show day (only 8)
$25 Fri. night & show day upper barn (entries & stall fees must be paid by                               
       6PM Fri). Farm & all arenas close 6PM Fri.  Vehicles may park for 10                                
       minutes only to unload at barns.
$10 Fri. PM schooling fee

COMMITMENT TO PAY:  When a horse show extends the courtesy of taking an advanced
entry without payment, it is with the understanding that classes will be paid for on show day.  
If the rider gets tired or wishes to withdraw, the fees for the preentered classes are still due.

SPORTS RELEASE:  Must be signed for each entry.

REFUNDS FOR ILLNESS OF HORSE OR RIDER:  Refunds will be given in the case of the
illness of a horse or rider if a veterinarian or doctor's note, on official letterhead, is received
by the Secretary within 5 working days.

RULES:  The show will be run according to the USEF and GHJA hunter/jumper rules and
every person who participates in the show is expected to know  & follow the rules

NEGATIVE COGGINS:  Each horse must have a current negative coggins shown to the
Secretary at sign in time.

DRESS:  Proper attire is required in all classes. Hard hats must be worn by all mounted riders
at all times.  All riders must wear ASTM-SEI approved helmets with a properly adjusted (snug)
harness.  Boots must be worn.

HOSPITALITY:  The Pegasus Tack Shop will be open during the show.  Food concession will
be available.  Water is available at each building on the farm.

TARDINESS TO CLASS:  A 3 minute rule may be put into affect at any time upon
announcement if a rider keeps a judge waiting.

NO STALLIONS PERMITTED ON SHOW GROUNDS.

NO SMOKING ON SHOW GROUNDS.  
Pegasus Riding School is a drug-free facility,
including nicotine.

DOGS are a danger at horse shows.  NO LOOSE DOGS ALLOWED!  Dogs must be held by
an adult on a short (under 6') leash at all times.  Fines and/or impoundment may be enforced.

LEADLINE CLASSES:  Children's mounts must be held on a lead by someone over 16 yrs.

GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP:  Any act of discourtesy to the judge or any show official by
anyone will be cause for immediate dismissal from the grounds without refund.

SHOW CONDUCT:  Management reserves the right to refuse an entry, cancel, combine,
divide classes, combine age group equitation classes or make adjustments as needed to
improve the show.  Exhibitors agree to ride under a substitute judge if necessary.

WEATHER:  The show will be held rain or shine.  NO rain date.  NO rain refunds.

BOUNCED CHECKS:  Must be covered in full with a $25 cash service charge within 5
working days.

AWARDS:  Ribbons to sixth place.  Championships for divisions.  Riders must enter ALL
CLASSES of a division to quality for championships.

POINTS:  Points will be awarded as follows:  10 for first place, 6 for 2nd place, 4 for third
place, 2 for fourth place, 1 point for fifth, .5 for 6th place; 20 points for Champion, 12 points
for Reserve Champion.  In case of a tie for Champion or Reserve, award will go to the rider
with the most points over fences.  Only top 4 over fences are eligible for Champ & Reserve.   

SCHOOLING:  Free flat schooling in arena before 8:45AM.  Ticketed warmups prior to
divisions.  Free schooling in non-showing arenas all day.  

INSTRUCTOR'S AWARD:  Instructors bringing 4 or more students will receive a $20 courtesy
gift certificate to the Pegasus Tack Shop.  Instructors must present business card with
students' entries.  Gift certificate valid only day of show.

ACTS OF CRUELTY towards horses/ponies will not be tolerated.  This includes whips being
used forward of the saddle or near the eyes, animals being used in an excessive number of
classes or other improper treatment.  Elimination without refund may occur at the judge's or
management's discretion.

DOTTED LINE - Management may restrict the courtesy circle with a mandatory dotted line.

HUNTER COURSES  shall simulate obstacles found in the hunt field, such as natural rails, gates, walls,
etc.
